University of Wisconsin–Madison

Goal 4: Advance international alumni engagement

With more than 17,000 registered international alumni and 25+ global alumni chapters, UW–Madison’s international graduates are a powerful asset. They serve as mentors, ambassadors, and philanthropic partners. By closely aligning the priorities of campus leadership with
the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA), we are elevating international alumni
engagement to support recruitment, research, and advancement priorities.

To achieve this goal, we will:

  • Increase strategic collaboration between WFAA and schools, colleges, and divisions to advance engagement with international alumni.
  • Build sustainable processes to connect international alumni and prospective students and their parents in support of enrollment initiatives.
  • Leverage travel by deans and other university leaders to build and sustain relationships in countries aligned with campus priorities.
  • Support philanthropic endeavors that enable international alumni to benefit future Badgers.
  • Expand opportunities to recognize the outstanding contributions of UW-Madison’s international alumni.

Goal 4 in Action

International alumni are important members of the Badger community. They support key university priorities and inspire new generations of Badgers through their incredible personal and professional accomplishments.

These are just a few stories showing how international alumni, campus partners, and university leaders are creating lasting connections and opportunities that benefit current and future generations of Badgers.
